This pre-filter is especially useful in areas where there is very heavy sediment, or a concern about heavy metals. Performance is as follows (removal percentage by category of pollutant)

Note that this is a LARGE size cartridge with flow rates that are well matched to the machine (1-1.5 GPM @ 45 psi), and a rated capacity of 2000 Gallons.

The mechanical filtration spec (1 micron) is the same as for our built in filter, however in areas with heavy sediment the big advantage of this filter is that you can clean the ceramic cartridge with a Scotchbrite pad.
